Explosions near Choudwar Jail in Cuttack, no injury

Three explosions near the high security Choudwar Jail, about 15 km from Cuttack on Sunday night sent the police and jail authorities into a tizzy.

Three explosions near the high security Choudwar Jail, about 15 km from Cuttack on Sunday night sent the police and jail authorities into a tizzy.

Eye witnesses said at least three explosions were heard from a deserted spot, about 50 meters away from the jail’s main gate.

No one was injured.

“We have recovered some materials used for bomb making from the spot”, Inspector of Choudwar police station Amnil Kumar Das said.

He said the explosive materials could even be crackers.

Security around the jail have been tightened, Jail Superintendent Dharani Dhar Dash said.
