CHANDIGARH, Sept 27: Senior quality control officials of the Food Corporation of India (FCI) will be deputed at various procurement centres in Punjab during the paddy procurement operations. An official statement issued by FCI today stated that these teams would check the quality of paddy being procured by the FCI and state agencies.As per the specifications laid down, paddy with a maximum limit of foreign matter up to two per cent; damaged, discoloured, sprouted and weeviled grains up to three per cent; and moisture up to 18 per cent have been prescribed as the upper limits for procurement.
