NEW DELHI, December 21: Helped by three penalty stroke conversions, Food Corporation of India began their campaign in the 19th Servo Sanjay Gandhi hockey tournament with a convincing 6-1 win over Khalsa Blue at the National Stadium here today. The winners, who led 3-0 at the breather, have entered the quarter-final league.FCI forged ahead in the 15th minute through conversion of the team's second penalty corner. Amarnath increased the lead in the 27th minute when he converted the team's first penalty stroke award. two minutes later, Kurunesh further consolidated the lead with a field goal as Khalsa Blue struggled to keep the FCI forwards under check.Soon after change of ends, FCI earned their second `stroke' which was converted by Prabhakar in the 38th minute. Prabhakar once again was in action, scoring another goal in the 41st minute.Khalsa Blue's efforts finally bore fruit when Gurpreet Singh reduced the margin in the 45th minute.
