LONDON, DEC 22: Britain’s royal family is inhuman for excluding the Duchess of York from their Christmas celebrations once again this year, her father was quoted on Friday as saying.

Fergie, as the flame-haired duchess is popularly known fromher maiden name Sarah Ferguson, has been largely shunned by the royal family since her marriage to Prince Andrew broke down in 1992.

The couple separated five months after photos of hercavorting topless with her Financial adviser Johnny Bryan were splashed in newspapers. They later divorced.

Earlier this month it was reported that Queen Elizabeth’shusband Prince Philip had again barred his former daughter-in-law from the royal family’s traditional Christmas celebrations at the Sandringham estate in Norfolk, eastern England.

Fergie’s two daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie,would join Andrew at the celebrations, the reports said.

"The whole situation is inhuman, deplorable and 100 percentunnecessary," Fergie’s father, Major Ron Ferguson, told the Daily Mail newspaper.

"Sarah feels very strongly about it, as do the rest of ourfamily. It is a ridiculous situation," he said.

The Duchess, who was expected to spend Christmas Day mostlyalone in a cottage on the estate, would meet the queen for tea at some point, the Daily Mail said.

Earlier this year there was speculation of a reconciliationand possible remarriage to Andrew.

The couple have remained on amicable terms since their 1996divorce and live in different wings of Andrew’s sprawling Sunninghill Park mansion near London.
