February 25: The Hindi film industry got a shot in the arm with Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce (FICCI) chairperson K K Modi offering to lobby for the industry before the heads of government. Modi reportedly told Bollywood bigwigs last week to prepare a paper detailing their problems, which would be presented to the prime minister and finance minister at a seminar to be held in Mumbai on May 2. Film Federation of India president Santosh Singh Jain said the offer to join hands with business houses had come as godsend, as the film industry’s grievances had not been redressed by successive governments despite concerted efforts.
