Chandigarh, Dec 17: The Chandigarh Administration has mooted a plan for centralised advance cinema bookings in Sector 17 and has asked cinema-owners to give their proposals in this regard.
According to sources, the plan was put forth by SDM (Central) P.S. Gill at a meeting with cinema-owners today, where Gill offered Administration’s help in providing space.
Centralised advance booking for all cinema halls would come as a relief to cinema-buffs. While the modalities have yet to be worked out, sources say the cinema-owners favour such a centre.
Meanwhile, the proposal of the cinema-owners to scrap "Lower Stall" seats and treat these as "Upper Stall" seats has been rejected. While the cinema ticket for lower stall is Rs 10, that for the upper stall is Rs 15.
The cinema-owners were also directed to improve the parking lots owned by them and prominently display the parking rates, besides rates of eatables and drinks. The Administration has also asked the cinema-owners to place complaint boxes to cater to public complaints.
