Runners-up Punjab and Sind Bank (PSB), Delhi and former champions Punjab Police today booked semifinals berths by winning their respective league encounters in the 16th Indian Oil Surjit Hockey Tournament here.

While PSB beat Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala 5-2, the Policemen crushed Punjab State Electricity Board, Patiala 5-1.

In the third encounter, Bharat Petroleum, Mumbai beat Central Industrial Security Force, Delhi 2-1 to earn full points in their first league matche today.

The Bharat Petroleum-CISF encounter turned out to be a drab affair with the game confined mostly to midfield. Petroleum took the lead in the 19th minute when outside-left Amar Aiyamma score a neat field goal.

After the break, CISF equalised in the 55th minute. But CISF joy was short-lived as M Parkash wrapped up the game for Bharat Petroleum by converting a penalty corner 2-1.
