Indian BPO Firstsource Solutions has acquired MedAssist Holding Inc, a US-based provider of revenue cycle management in the healthcare industry for $330 million (Rs 1,350 crore).

MedAssist, headquartered in Louisville, has 1,400 employees and has a pan-America presence. “This includes eligibility services, receivables management services and post-default collections services for healthcare providers. The company has over 1,000 clients. MedAssist’s revenue for year ended December 31, 2006 was $99 million,” it said.

Following the announcement, Firstsource shares shot up by 9.1 per cent to Rs 78.85 on the BSE.
