CHANDIGARH, Nov 13: Four persons have been arrested by the City police for possessing liquor or drinking in a public place.

Police sources say that Shakti Bail of Bapu Dham Colony was arrested near the Transport Chowk. The other accused has been identified as Sarmukh Singh, resident of Sector 38. Twelve bottles have been recovered from the possession of each.

Meanwhile, three other persons, Rajinder Singh and Devi Ram, both residents of Shimla, and Mukesh, resident of Sector 6, Panchkula, were arrested for drinking in a public place. Separate cases under the Excise Act have been registered against all the five persons. Further investigations into the matter are on.
