SHIMLA, Nov 25: Defence Minister George Fernandes today set out an agenda for the crucial meeting of the Army's top brass, advising them to lay special focus on dealing with problems on the country's internal security and insurgency and how best could the forces be used for meeting these threats.Fernandes had also participated in the brain storming session at the ARTRAC yesterday to discuss strategies for improving defence capabilities and modernisation process in the force. Chief of the Army Staff General V P Malik is also camping here and had presided over some of the sessions. Fernandes, this morning, flew to Srinagar but returned in the afternoon to join in the deliberations for the second session. He returned to Delhi after attending the session. The meeting had been split into different sessions focusing on separate specialised areas to draw up long term strategies for various arms of the armed forces. The army was maintaining full secrecy of the proceedings and entry to the ARTRAC headquarters had also been restricted to the participants and staff posted here. The meeting would end tomorrow evening.
