Bajrang Dal activists found a foreigner talking to a young man outside a heritage hotel and mistook them for a couple. While the boy’s face was completely blackened, the girl escaped with a small patch of black on the forehead. City SP Ajay Pande said that the victim was a relative of a doctor who had come to India to take part in a conference. According to him, the boy was standing outside because he he didn’t have an entry pass. Pande claimed he saved the girl by caning the activists. No complaint was lodged because the victim did not press for it, he said.
