
MUMBAI, MARCH 11: Foreign currency reserves of the country have burgeoned to $ 36,006 million in the week ended March 3, 2000 compared to last week’s position of $ 35,595 million.
Food credit by the banks declined by Rs 34 crore to Rs 9,111 crore while non-food credit went up by Rs 5,869 crore to Rs 45,989 crore.
Accommodation provided by scheduled commercial banks to commercial sector in the form of bank credit and investments in shares/debentures/bonds/commercial paper during the fortnight increased by Rs 5869 crore to Rs 4,57,913 crore.
