Former Bangalore Police Commissioner Hmar Tlawmte Sangliana joined the BJP here on Thursday. Party president M. Venkaiah Naidu announced his admission to the party. Karnataka BJP president Ananth Kumar was present on the occasion. Sangliana, who arrested fake stamp paper scam accused Abdul Karim Telgi, said he had ‘‘received feelers from many parties’’, but opted for the BJP because it had the ‘‘most positive and progressive programmes”. — (ENS)
