PUNE, Nov 7: Valuables worth Rs 1.25 lakh were taken away by armed dacoits who struck at a remote hamlet near Jaulke Khurd village in Khed taluka last night. The dacoits terrorised women and children when they attacked a total of 13 houses. Four persons received serious injuries in the attack.

The Rajgurunagar police arrested eight dacoits in the afternoon at the ST bus stand. Some valuables looted by them were also recovered.

Last night at 12.30 am, around 15 to 20 dacoits, armed with sticks and stones, attacked the hamlet known as `Khalchi Khandi’ having around 50 to 60 small houses at the southern end of the village.

The dacoits locked most houses around the hamlet and started terrorising the residents. They entered the houses by breaking the doors with crowbars.
