SURAT, Nov 24: Four labourers were injured in a house collapse beside the Choryasi Dairy on the Ambaji Road on Tuesday afternoon. According to fire brigade sources, Veni Jairam (60), Bagu Totaram (25), Dinesh Punjariya (32) and Arjun Devram (28) sustained minor to serious injuries, when the two-storey building - whose ground floor was being renovated - collapsed at around 12.30 pm. The four have been admitted to the Maskati hospital. Four Surat Municipal Corporation fire tenders rushed to the spot and removed the four from under the debris in an about an half an hour. They were rushed to the Maskati hospital, where doctors attending on them said they were out of danger.While the building is owned by one Dr Anusaya Desai, it has been rented out to one Rajiv Sheth. A dispensary is also running there. No other person other than the labourers were present in the building when it collapsed, according to the fire personnel.
