
PUNE, JAN 1: Freanka Dhanak riding Kenyata won the gold in the ongoing National Equestrian championship dressage event for juniors and sub-juniors at the Police H.Q. ground today.
Freanka represents the recently formed Japalloupe Equestrian Centre based at Talegaon. Amongst 40 riders she clinched pole spot tallying 156 points.
Close behind was Amar Sarin astride Tulsi for Romano riding club with 152 points.
The national level competition in show jumping for sub-juniors had its outcome today. 44 riders took part in the 12 obstacle course. It was a close decision with all the first four riders ending up without a single penalty point, and the timing being the only criteria. Aditya Ahuja riding a Northern Command horse Tiger finished on top completing the course in 32.
06 seconds. The international events commence tomorrow and three international riding contingents are in the city. Teams from the United States Of America, Great Britain and Hong Kong have already arrived. The draws were held today for the allotting of Indian horses to the the teams taking part in this category. India will field two teams A’ and B’ as privilege for being the hosts.
