PANCHKULA, NOV 21: A free medical check-up camp was organised by the State Bank of Patiala, Sector 7 branch, in association with Care Health Society, Chandigarh, yesterday. The venue of the camp was Gurdwara Shri Guru Singh Sabha, Sector 7, Panchkula.

The deputy general manager, Haryana Zone of State Bank of Patiala, J.R. Devgan, was the chief guest on the occasion. Eminent doctors of City Heart Centre carried out free medical check-ups and emphasised the importance of timely knowledge of a disease. Later, Devgan was presented a Siropa by the gurdwara management.

Meanwhile, a free eye and dental check-up camp was organised in Sector 16, here today. Around 200 patients, mainly slum dwellers, were examined in the camp, which was organised by Dr Suman Jyoti and Suvikram Jyoti. The camp not only included check-up, but also eye surgeries and free spectacles were provided to the needy patients. The patients who had come for dentures have also been given dates and they will be provided with free dentures. Most of the cases related to the eyes were weakness of eye sight and cataract, while in case of dental ailments, most patients were found suffering from caries. Patients who will have to undergo further treatment will also be given treatment free of cost.
