Has somebody heard of former Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh of late? He has not been seen at the AICC headquarters since the Congress lost power in March last year. Even as his bete noire Rajinder Kaur Bhattal has gained in strength within the party during this period, the former CM has been on the sidelines, thanks to a powerful group of central leaders who blame him squarely for the loss in Punjab. Last heard he was writing a three-volume book on the Anglo-Sikh wars of 1845-46 and 1848-49. At least that was what he confided to a Delhi-based party colleague recently.
