Over two decades after discontinuing its most sought-after course, the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) has finalised its plan to restart the acting course in July, director Prem Matiyani said today. ‘‘We are ready with the course. The only contention is its duration, which is expected to be sorted out soon,’’ he said. It is still not decided if the course should be year-long or of a two-year duration.Matiyani said the FTII has received a UNESCO grant of $20,000 and has thought of plans to augment its revenue. An FM radio station as well as a captive television channel is on the cards.Aiming to attract foreign and NRI students, the FTII will now reserve two additional seats in each course. Four new courses in TV will also commence this year. ‘‘Each stream will now have 48 students,’’ Matiyani said.
