NOV 6: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday said he would effect a full-fledged Cabinet reshuffle after reviewing the performance of his ministers but declined to set any time-frame for the exercise.``I will reshuffle my team at an appropriate time,'' Naidu told reporters here after the swearing-in of Uma Devi, the widow of former Panchayatraj Minister A Madhav Reddy who was killed in a Naxalite attack.The first-time TDP legislator Uma Devi was on Monday inducted into Chandrababu Naidu Cabinet taking the strength of his ministry to 37.The 46-year-old Uma Devi was elected to the assembly in May last in a by-election folllowing the death of her husband in a landmine blast triggered by People's War Group (PWG) Naxalites in March this year.As sombre mood prevailed at Darbar Hall in Raj Bhavan, the State Governor C Rangarajan administered oath of office and secrecy to Uma Devi who represents Bhongir in Nalgonda district, a constituency held by her slain husband for four terms.She was allotted Mines and Geology Portfolio, with a Cabinet rank, and the present incumbent P Srinivas Reddy has been shifted to Panchayatraj Ministry.The Chief Minister, his Cabinet colleagues, the Speaker of State Assembly K Pratibha Bharathi, leader of Telugu Desam Parliamentary Party K Errannaidu were among those who attended the brief ceremony.A science graduate Uma Devi's entry into the Cabinet has been on the cards for some time now with Naidu having expressed keenness to give her a ministerial berth to fill the void left behind by his close confidant.With her induction, the strength of women members in the Naidu Cabinet has gone up to six, all first-time MLAs, making it the highest representation to women in the state's history.Madhava Reddy, who was high on Naxal hit list, was killed when his vehicle was blown off in a landmine blast triggered by extremists near Ghatkesar on the city outskirts on March 7 last.Reddy, who had also served as the state Home Minister in his earlier stint, was known for his tough posture against Naxalites.Uma's induction into the Cabinet comes in the backdrop of forthcoming panchayat elections, scheduled in March next year, and TDP is gearing up for its membership drive starting from November 8.Later talking to reporters, Uma Devi said she would strive to fulfill the aspirations of her husband.
