The plaint of hockey players that they were ignored as far as rewards went put Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel in a spot. The minister, however, was quick to latch on to popular sentiments. Now, we hear that a decision has been taken to promote Indian team captain Prabodh Tirkey, Dilip Tirkey, Vimal Lakra, Adrian D’Souza and assistant coach M P Singh. Moreover, plans are afoot to host a common reception for the cricket and hockey players. But the ministry better watch out for football players now—Patel is also the vice-president of the All India Football Federation.
