MUMBAI, Jan 27: Lata Narvekar, producer of the Marathi play Gandhi-Ambedkar which has won the 1996-97 Natyadarpan award for ``a special attention-grabbing effort'' has stirred a hornet's nest by refusing to accept the award. ``It's childish to call this play a `special attention-grabbing effort.' Considering the scope of the play, it's nothing short of an insult,'' Narvekar said. She said the play wasn't a commercial ploy, but there was social consciousness behind it. ``It's my tribute to Gandhi and Ambedkar in the golden jubilee year of Indian independence. How can it be dismissed as an `effort'?'' she demanded to know.
