In a shot in the arm for the textile industry prior to the post-quota regime, readymade garment exports to quota countries grew by 40.12 pc in quantity terms and 47.92 pc in value terms in October, 2004 at 94.3 mn pieces valued at $380.9 mn.
Exports to the US surged 68.18 pc in quantity terms and 59.33 pc in value terms. Exports to EU rose by 31.48 pc in quantity terms and 43.52 pc in value terms.
