
VADODARA, June 29: Only two of the 115 sub-stations affected by the cyclone remain to be restored by the Gujarat Electricity Board (GEB).
According to an official spokesman, 66 KV Lamba sub-station, a Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA) sub-station and, 66 KV Vadinar sub-station located in Jamnagar are yet to become operational. Thirty-three sub-stations in Kutch, 23 in Jamnagar, 46 in Junagadh and Porbandar, three in Amreli and Bhavnagar and, 10 in Rajkot area have already been restored.
Till Monday, the Board restored power to 12,929 villages. More than 1,129 kilometer long high tension lines, 8,530 kilometer long low tension linesand 4,286 transformer centres have also been restored.
More than 35,747 electricity poles have been re-erected and 3,174 feeders restored.
On Monday alone, the Board restored power supply to 59 villages, towns and cities apart from rectifying 70 kilometer long high tension lines, 53 kilometer long low tension lines, 71 distribution transformers, 797 single phase service connections and 316 three phase service connections. The Board also restarted 10 damaged feeders and 1,738 electricity poles.
