NEW DELHI, January 8: Lieutenant-Governor Vijai Kapoor today reviewed the public grievances redressal services of the Delhi Development Authority and stressed that visitors should be “treated considerately”.
He was accompanied by DDA Vice-Chairman P.K. Ghosh in his inspection of the reception area and the offices of the housing department. Kapoor said that the housing department, which has the maximum dealing with the public, needs to be restructured. According to the DDA, the new designs have already been prepared and will be implemented in the next three months.
The LG talked to a number of complainants. Most of them had come to resolve matters concerning payment of outstanding installments and conversion deeds. It was found that the matters relating to deeds could be solved easier as the office of the collector of stamps was located within the DDA headquarters. A new and more consumer-friendly procedure is expected to be operational from the end of January.

Later in the day, Kapoor also visited the sewage treatment plants at Kondli, Yamuna Vihar, Delhi Gate and Sen Nursing Home nullahs with a view to assess the progress of construction of the new plants.
He said that work on the Kondli sewage treatment plants that serves the area around South G.T. Road in Trans-Yamuna be completed expeditiously.
The sewage treatment plant at Sen Nursing Home has a capacity of 2.2 MGD and the project cost is Rs 538.5 lakh. The plant at Delhi Gate has a capacity of 2.2 MGD and the total cost is Rs 631.45 lakh.
