Durban, August 14: Three South African cricketers — Herschelle Gibbs, Henry Williams and Pieter Strydom — ensnared by disgraced former captain Hansie Cronje will appear before the country’s cricket disciplinary commmittee on Saturday where they could get suspended life bans.

While Gibbs and Williams had agreed to throw the match for $ 15,000, Strydom turned down the offer. But during the match both Gibbs and Williams reneged on the agreement and they did not receive any payment.

According to local officials, it is understood the three players may be given suspended life bans which would allow them to resume their careers provided they don’T repeat their match-fixing scandals.

"We want to finalise this matter as soon as possible", Wilkinson said.
