After Team India physiotherapist Andrew Leipus resigns, chances are current Bangladesh team physio John Gloster will be drafted in for the team. This was disclosed to The Indian Express by a source close to the Board of Control for Cricket in India. For his part, when contacted Gloster also told us that Leipus had gotten in touch with him on the possiblity.

Leipus submitted his resignation to the BCCI last month — effective from the end of the upcoming Bangladesh tour — with the proposal that if he and Gloster can handle the Indian team on a ‘‘rotational basis’’, it would suit him

best. The source confirmed: ‘‘Leipus wants more time with his family. Also, he wants to use his experience in India to try and build a strong domestic support base in India. He was offered a new contract but came up with this proposal (of rotation). It is a possiblity and will be discussed.’’

When contacted in Bangladesh, 36-year-old Gloster confirmed the fact that his friend for over a decade Leipus had contacted him and it ‘‘came as a shock’’. ‘‘I will definitely say ‘yes’ if the BCCI called me, but nothing has happened yet. I will be ready though,’’ Gloster said.

Adelaide-based Glost-er is also keen to try out the rotation process: ‘‘It will be fantastic. Job-sharing is very much a possibility. It happens all over the world, even in England and Australia.’’
