A prime accused in the Godhra carnage will be put through a three-day lie detector test as his interrogation by the special investigation team has not yielded much information.

Last week, the team had filed the third supplementary chargesheet in a Godhra court which claims to have established links between Razzaq Kurkur and suspended CRPF constable Nikkee Chaudhary alias Nanhee Mian.

Investigating officer Noel Parmar said Kurkur would be put through the lie detector test in Ahmedabad from December 30. Though officials wanted the accused to take the test

earlier, they deferred the plan in view of Ramzan and subsequent Assembly elections. ‘‘It is not ethically right to put him through the test during the Ramzan days,’’ an official said.

The chargesheet says Chaudhary visited Godhra many times, the most recent one being on February 26, a day before miscreants set fire to S-6 coach of Sabarmati Express.
