An Indian Express photographer was beaten in broad daylight at Dadar railway station. The goons left him with a fractured ankle and almost mugged of his D100 Nikon digital camera worth about Rs 1 lakh.

After an assignment photographing protesting Shiv Sainiks, Kevin D’Souza had boarded a not-so-crowded local train headed from Borivali to Churchgate at about 3:30 pm. He was scanning his photos when two goons attacked him. Passing Jogeshwari, he got shoved around by the two men. ‘‘That’s when I realised I should be careful about my camera,’’ recalls a shaken D’Souza.
