R.R.Gopal, editor of Tamil bi-weekly Nakeeran, who has been charged under POTA, was today produced before a judicial magistrate’s court in Gobichettipalayam in Erode district in a murder case relating to a police informant three years ago.
Journalists were strictly prohibited from covering the event. Mediapersons later blocked roads in protest. Gopal’s counsel submitted an 8-page statement to the magistrate and appealed to allow him to go for medical examination.The next date of hearing is April 30.
