Bangalore, Nov 14: P Gopi Chand and Nikhil Kanetkar entered the semi-finals of the men's singles event of the $ 17,000 Toulouse Open badminton championships.According to a release from the Badminton Association of India, Kanetkar shocked top seed Vladimir Druchenkov of Russia 15-9, 15-11. In the pre-quarterfinals, he overcame Andrez Pohar of Slovenia 15-13, 15-10. Kanetkar plays Richard Vaughan of Wales for a place in the final. Vaughan had beaten Kiran Kumar of India 15-4, 15-8 in the pre-quarterfinals.Gopi Chand, who defeated Gerben Bruistjens of The Netherlands in the pre-quarterfinals, beat Ruud Kuitjen of Belgium 15-7, 15-8 in the quarters. Gopi Chand will meet Henrik Bengtsson of Sweden in the semi-finals. Bengtsson defeated Abhishek Bakshi 15-6, 15-6.
