CHANDIGARH, Nov 25: Justice R L Anand of the Punjab and Haryana High Court today directed the state of Punjab as well as Punjab Minister Mahesh Inder Singh to file a reply in court regarding the kidnapping of Gurbax Singh, son of late Justice Gurnam Singh, by the Ludhiana police.The case had been taken up on the basis of a telegram sent by Jasbir Kaur of Chandigarh, who is the sister of Gurbax Singh. The telegram alleged that her brother had been picked up by the Ludhiana police at the instance of Mahesh Inder Singh Grewal on false charges to intimidate, harass and defame him.It was alleged that Gurbax Singh was being detained in Police Chowki No 5., Ludhiana from the day he was picked up i.e. October 31.On receipt of the telegram, the same was treated as a criminal writ petition and notice had been issued to the state of Punjab for today, on November 9. As there are allegations against the Minister, he has also been directed to submit his reply by the next date, December 12.
