Communication Minister Dayanidhi Maran on Monday specified that the government holds a ‘different view’ from Reliance Infocomm Ltd’s (RIC) claim that it has not violated the licence agreement in the alleged rerouting of international calls.

‘‘The government has certainly a different view from that of Reliance Infocomm and Department of Telecom (DoT) will be submitting its views before the Telecom Dispute Settlement Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) on February 10,’’ Maran said here. ‘‘If it (rerouting) was not illegal, we wouldn’t have been talking about it here,’’ Maran told reporters.

‘‘We will, however, present our view before TDSAT on February 10,’’ the communications minister added while speaking at the sidelines of a Nasscom session here.

He declined to comment further on the issue as the matter is before the court.
