KANNUR, DEC 5: Senior BJP leader B C Khandoori, who led a four-member party team to violence-torn Kannur town, today charged the Kerala government with ``blatantly'' misusing its power to further the CPI(M)'s political ends.``The state government is using the administrative machinery as an instrument for improving CPI(M)'s political organisation,'' Khandoori alleged at a press conference here. ``The police in the state, especially in Kannur district, is being used as a tool by the CPI(M) and not as a state machinery. The record of the Nayanar government in dealing with the law and order situation in Kannur has been very poor,'' he said.``The CPI(M) does not want any other political party to grow in its bastion. Such terrorising of other party workers is not acceptable. The police is also becoming a deliberate helper in committing crimes,'' he alleged. Welcoming tomorrow's peace talks called by Chief Minister E K Nayanar, he said the state government should ensure the talks were not to ``fool thepeople''.He said the peace talks should not be a ruse to give time for the Marxist cadres to regroup and resume attacks.The BJP delegation would submit its report to the Central leadership tomorrow, Khandoori said, adding that it was up to the Centre to decide whether to send an observers team to the troubled spot or not. Meanwhile, a Mangalore-bound train carrying Kerala Chief Minister E K Nayanar was blocked by about 25 Bharathiya Janata Yuva Morcha workers near Kozhikode today. They were protesting against alleged CPI(M) attacks on their cadres in Kannur. The protestors, were later removed by the police.
