VADODARA, Feb 15: Vadodara Mazdoor Congress vice-president Chandrakumar Pillay has claimed that the employees of several statutory boards and government-owned corporations are in a piquant situation because of non-implementation of the Fifth Pay Commission recommendations though the State Governments had already implemented them.
In a statement issued here on Monday, Pillay claimed that since many boards and corporations had not obtained the Finance Department’s approval to implement the pay panel recommendations, scores of employees are a frustrated lot. He stated that particularly after some of the organisations had given the payments the employees feel neglected.
He explained that since the chairmen and a section of board directors are political appointees, the resolutions passed by the board of directors of such organisations had no standing till they are approved by the Finance Department. And since they had not sent their resolutions on implementation of the Fifth Pay Commission to the Finance Department, the employees are suffering, he claimed.
