NEW DELHI, DEC 8: The Government has said "necessary action" will be taken if the court orders extradition of Hinduja brothers in the Rs 64 crore Bofors pay-off case.
Replying to a written question of V P Duraisamy in the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Personnel Vasundhara Raje said, "Necessary action would be taken as per the orders of the court."
Replying to another question on how the government proposed to recover Rs 64 crore pay-off from Hindujas, the Minister said the "question would arise only after verdict of the courts on the investigations and the chargesheet filed by the CBI is available."
The Minister informed the House that a supplementary chargesheet was filed by CBI on October 9 against the three Hinduja brothers — G P Hinduja, S P Hinduja and P P Hinduja — for offences under Section 120-B read with Section 420 and Section 5(2) read with Section 5(1)(D) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1947.
