AHMEDABAD, Jan 10: The Gujarat Secondary Education Board has made some changes in the examination pattern of SSC and HSC which will be starting from March 15.
Sources said that practical examinations for Class XII this year would be conducted before the written ones unlike the previous years. Schools have been asked to complete practical examinations by the end of February while that of Class X will be completed in the first week of February. Changes are likely to take place in the written examination pattern also.
The board is likely to implement multiple question type paper this year to prevent incidents of copying in examinations. In multiple question paper pattern, three sets of question papers will be given and no two students sitting side by side will have identical question papers.
Interestingly, video photography, which was started last year to curb irregularities in board examination, is likely to be stopped from this year.
The education department has also taken other steps to curb irregularities in the examinations. A board has been set up to supervise the whole procedure and to look into complaints. Bar coding system on question paper will continue to be in effect as part of effort to curb irregularities.
This year about 4.5 lakh students will appear in SSC, while some 1.75 lakh students are expected to appear for HSC examinations.
