
A suspected Harkat-ul-Muajahideen militant, who managed to give police a slip in 2001, was arrested in New Delhi.
On a tip off, the special cell of Delhi Police arrested Habib-ur-Rehman alias Babu from Sarai Kale Khan area on Monday night, a senior police officer said on Tuesday.
Rehman had managed to dodge a police net in 2001 when he tried to smuggle in eight kg of high explosive RDX and detonators into the capital. At that time, two of his accomplices, who were Pakistani nationals, were arrested.
Rehman, who hails from Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh, carries a reward of Rs 25,000 on his head, the officer said.
