Faced with stiff Opposition from Sikhs to the new rule requiring drivers to wear hard hats, the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) plans to hold negotiations with Sikh truck drivers to resolve differences on the issue, the Lok Sabha was informed today.

‘‘As the matter is under negotiations between the CPR and the Sikh community, it may be premature for government of India to make any demarche with the government of Canada,” Minister of
