Punjab and Haryana High Court today directed Punjab to furnish a list of candidates selected during the tenure of R.P.S. Sidhu as chairman on Monday indicating their ‘‘links’’ along with the detail of academic track record. Directing Punjab Advocate General to do the needful, a division bench of the HC comprising Justice G.S. Singhvi and Justice Bakshish Kaur said the list was essential to expedite the matter related to right to information.Singhvi stressed action would be taken over alleged involvement of judicial officers if evidence on their involvement was brought to the notice of court. The court observed that people, on the face of it, deserved true information and not half-baked truths and urged the Punjab Vigilance Bureau to perform its duty religiously. The state government told the court that Sidhu’s mother, brother and sister-in-law could not be interrogated as the Bureau could not trace them. After yesterday’s hearing, the court had observed that selective leakage of information by the investigating agency to media had defamed the high court.
