HC notice to Punjab

CHANDIGARH, Dec 15: A division bench of the Punjab and Haryana High Court today issued notice of motion to the State of Punjab for January 18 on a petition challenging the house allotment rules framed by the House Allottment Committee.

The notice for January 18 was issued by the bench comprising Justice V.K. Bali and Justice Iqbal Singh of the High Court. Challenging the rules, SP (Headquarters) Ram Singh, posted at Tran Taran, had earlier stated that the Sessions Judge being the senior-most officer, should be the chairman of the committee. He had also stated that the police was not represented in the Committee as the SP had not been made the member.
