Within hours of a directive from the Orissa High Court, power supply to Bhubaneswar and Cuttack cities, disrupted in a storm on Monday, were restored today. The supply was restored at 4 pm following a court order earlier in the day. The collapse of two transmission towers in Nayagarh district led to chaos in the region. Vacation Judge B.P. Das, acting upon a PIL filed by one Prabir Das, said in his order that contempt of court proceedings would be drawn up if the government failed to restore power supply by that time.
