Kochi, March 8: A division bench of the Kerala High Court today turned down former Transport Minister A Neelalohitadasan Nadar’s plea to quash the first information report (FIR) registered against him at the museum police station at Thiruvananthapuram on the basis of a complaint by former transport secretary, Nalini Netto, alleging sexual and official harrassment.

The bench, comprising Chief Justice Arijit Pasayat and Justice K S Radhakrishnan, while closing the petition filed by Nadar, also did not agree to his prayer to handover the investigation of the crime, presently being probed by state police, to any agency outside the state. Nadar had also sought a direction to the government and the DGP not to conduct any investigation by officers of the state police.

On the continuance of the judicial commission, the bench observed that it was upto to the commission to decide whether continuance would be desirable.

The advocate general (AG) had submitted that the investigation was presently being done by the additional director general of police, crimes and able investigators, including a DIG, were assisting him. Though at some stages there were some variations, that had now been taken care of and the investigation was being done by the additional DGP himself.
