MUMBAI, June 8: Hearts beat Rhino Sports Club 4-3 via tie-breaker in the Maitra Cup organised by the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) at the St Xavier’s Ground, Parel, today. The teams were locked one-all at the end of the scheduled time of play.
Rhino played well throughout but failed to convert the opportunities that came their way. The first-half ended goalless.
Hearts took the lead through Murali Nair in the 13th minute of the second half, but Rhino equalised through Satyawan Sawant in the 36th minute.
In the tie-breaker, Vijay Salian, Bharat Raj and Akshay Shetty scored for the winners, while U Kadam and Suhas Surve found the net for the losers.
In another match, Sushu Vikas beat PSS 9-8 via tier-breaker after both teams failed to score in the scheduled time.
Tomorrow is a rest day.
