With they weather playing foul, and early pullouts adding pressure, the organizers of the Kingfisher Airlines Mumbai Tennis Open today heaved a sigh of relief with the arrival of top draw Lleyton Hewitt for the $ 416,000 ATP tour.

His arrival was confirmed, but his fitness wasn’t. Following a bout of viral fever, he is yet to be hundred percent, it was learnt here. The 26-year-old did not join practice, but is set to play tomorrow.

Ranked 21st in the world now and seeded here after Richard Gasquet of France, Hewitt has been running fever and had pulled out of the Davis Cup reverse singles vs Serbia in Belgrade, and his participation here was uncertain.

Earlier, Marat Safin of Russia and Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus had pulled out.
