When Brian Lara broke two world records today — the highest individual Test score and the first cricketer in the game’s 127-year history to score 400 in an innings — his closest rival in the genius stakes, Sachin Tendulkar, was at a party hosted by the PCB in Rawalpindi. Most of the Indian team were there, in fact, and they missed watching history being created. Here’s how they reacted when they heard the news:

SACHIN TENDULKAR: It’s an amazing feat. I have no doubt he’s one of the best players of his generation… and, if one looks at it, the best ever. To do it (break the world record) twice is an amazing feat.
