The toll in the spurious liquor tragedy at suburban Vikhroli has mounted to 77, with six more deaths reported since last night.

Six more persons have succumbed since last night while over a hundred persons are still undergoing treatment at Rajawadi and Sion hospitals, police said here today.

Meanwhile, three more persons, including a woman, who were responsible for manufacturing and supplying the spurious liquor, were arrested last night, police said.

The total number of persons arrested so far from Mumbai and neighbouring Navi Mumbai and Thane is 27, police added.

Even as police continue with massive raids at various locations, the Maharashtra government has ordered a CID inquiry into the matter.
