Houses torched in Nandigram

Nandigram Block-I witnessed fresh violence on Saturday as mobs torched houses. Bombs were also hurled at Talpatti and Bhangabera. “There have been reports of clashes at Nandigram since Friday night. Some houses were set ablaze,” said IGP (Law and Order) Raj Kanojia in Kolkata. However, there is no information about the arsonists, the IGP said.

BUPC members also alleged that three of their members had been kidnapped by CPI(M) workers. Kanaojia, however, said he did not have any reports of people missing in Nandigram.
