How: Keep Fit

RUBY BHATIA
Actress, Anchor, Model

DIET: A few years ago, I suffered from malaria and typhoid so I have to be very careful of what I eat. For breakfast, I have spinach, soyabeans and toast, and my all-time favourite is skimmed milk. I prefer rice for lunch with dal and chapattis for dinner. However much I am tempted, I avoid snacks — I simply can’t afford to put on weight! For the past several months, though, I have been eating an apple everyday.

Generally speaking, I like my food to be low on oil and fat content — I think everyone would benefit from this kind of food. I am also a strict vegetarian, since I believe one’s diet controls one’s mental, emotional and spiritual well-being.

EXERCISE: Ten minutes of slow jogging, walking or jumping is part of my exercise routine. I haven’t tried yoga or meditation but been thinking about doing the Art of Living course to learn how to breathe properly.

PROBLEMS: Yeah! Dil toot jata hai! (I’m only joking!).

Actually, I’m asthmatic, though the problem is not very severe.
