PALAMPUR, AUG 20: The Himachal Pradesh Agriculture University (HPAU) teachers today decided to intensify their ongoing struggle for release of University Grants Commission-recommended pay-scales immediately.
They condemned Human Resource Development Minister M. M. Joshi for his delaying tactics.
A spokesman of the committee of the striking teachers said that a daily memorandum would be submitted to local legislator B. B. L Butail and member of Parliament Shanta Kumar to press upon the government for an early dialogue.
Urging Prime Minister to intervene, the spokesman regretted that the government had not woken up to the situation so far. Meanwhile, the worst hit by the strike at HPAU are the fresh students who have taken admission in the colleges of the university as incidents of ragging have increased beyond proportions in the absence of teachers.
